Wolaita Development Association (WODA) is marking a significant achievement as 20 alumni from the prestigious Wolaita Liqa School prepare to graduate from Hawassa College of Health and Medical Sciences on March 22, 2026.

This group includes 15 medical doctors and five health science professionals, following closely on the heels of ten other Wolaita Liqa alumni who graduated from Addis Ababa University just last week.
Since its founding, the school has established a formidable reputation for producing high-achieving students who remain competitive at both national and international levels, consistently securing placements in top-tier global and domestic universities

The school’s impact is most visible in the healthcare sector, where it has become a vital pipeline for Ethiopia’s premier medical colleges. To date, a total of 327 medical doctors produced by Wolaita Liqa School are already serving in various regions across the country
In a recent congratulatory visit to the prospective graduates, WODA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abebayehu Tora, alongside his deputies, emphasized the high expectations placed upon these new professionals.
He urged the graduates to approach their future roles with integrity and loyalty, reminding them of their duty to serve the community.

Furthermore, Dr. Abebayehu called on the alumni to remain connected to and support the Wolaita Development Association, recognizing it as the foundational institution that enabled their academic and professional success.
Congratulations once again to all graduates on this outstanding milestone, and best wishes for continued success in serving Ethiopia and beyond.
